Amal Neerad
Amal Neerad (born October 7, 1976) is an Indian film director, cinematographer, and producer who works primarily in the Malayalam film industry. A graduate of the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Kolkata, he first gained recognition as a cinematographer for Black (2004), before beginning his directorial career Amal made his directorial debut with the stylish action film Big B (2007), starring Mammootty, which later gained cult status for its visual language and technical finesse. Known for his trademark slow-motion sequences, stylized frames, and moody color palettes, Amal established a distinct identity in contemporary Malayalam film industry
He went on to direct films like Sagar Alias Jacky Reloaded (2009), Anwar (2010), and Iyobinte Pusthakam (2014), the latter winning widespread acclaim for its period setting and powerful performances
As a producer, he has backed several successful projects under his banner Amal Neerad Productions, including Iyobinte Pusthakam (2014), Varathan (2018) and Bheeshma Parvam (2022)
